Crystal beads, strung by the Five Elements

Design yours

The Five Elements are one of the most recognisable frameworks in traditional Chinese culture. They describe five natural forces that appear in the world around us: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.

Rather than being seen as separate objects, the elements represent different patterns of movement and feeling. Wood grows, Fire rises, Earth supports, Metal refines, and Water flows. Together, they offer a way to understand balance: not as something fixed, but as something that shifts with time, mood and personal needs.

At Penta Strand, we use the Five Elements as a design language for self-expression. Each bracelet is inspired by one or more elements, helping you choose colours, stones and details that reflect the qualities you want to feel closer to: growth, confidence, grounding, clarity or calm.

A crystal bracelet becomes more meaningful when it is chosen with intention.

Each Five Element design starts with a feeling. Wood is for growth and renewal. Fire is for confidence and expression. Earth is for grounding and balance. Metal is for clarity and strength. Water is for calm and flow.

Through natural stones, colour palettes and charms, your bracelet becomes a wearable symbol of inner balance and personal meaning.

Wood

Growth

Wood represents growth, renewal and fresh beginnings. It reflects the quiet strength of nature: flexible, creative and always moving forward. In a bracelet, Wood can stand beautifully on its own, or be paired with other elements when you want growth to feel more grounded, focused or expressive.

Fire

Huǒ

Vitality

Fire represents warmth, confidence and expression. It carries passion, courage and the spark that helps you show up fully. Fire can be the centre of a bold design, or be balanced with softer elements such as Water or Earth for a bracelet that feels energetic yet calm.

Earth

Grounding

Earth represents stability, care and balance. It brings a sense of being supported, centred and present. Earth works well as a foundation element, grounding brighter, clearer or more fluid qualities from Fire, Metal or Water.

04 — 05Autumn · West

Metal

Jīn

Clarity

Metal represents clarity, strength and refinement. It brings focus, structure and a polished sense of self. Metal can create a clean, elegant bracelet on its own, or add definition to combinations with Wood, Water, Earth or Fire.

Water

Shuǐ

Flow

Water represents calm, intuition and adaptability. It brings softness, reflection and the ability to move with change. Water can shape a serene bracelet by itself, or bring ease and fluidity to stronger elements such as Fire, Metal or Earth.
